About the British Labrador Retriever Association

The British Labrador Retriever Association along with it governing body, the American GunDog Club, is dedicated to promoting the British Labrador breed in the United States. By promoting selective breeding, the members of the British Labrador Retriever Association strive to emphasis the best traits in all their dogs while still maintain the purity of the breed and its effectiveness as a hunting companion.

We strive to promote not only the British Labrador breed, but also the breeders of British Labradors. Through education, advocacy, and training, we will strive to increase the public's awareness of the breed and ensure that our member breeders live up to the highest standards anywhere.

Additionally, we are charged with conducting and managing British Field Trials throughout the United States. The trials and judges are goverened by the rules set forth by the American GunDog Club. We also maintain a database of all retrievers and handlers who have competed in our events and certify the results of our trials to the American GunDog Club for the awarding of titles and placements on pedigrees.
